I Learned It By Watching You

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

I have noticed that when I am interacting with my computer that Ezra then has an increased want to watch Thomas The Tank Engine or some other show on the computer. I have noticed if I do not interact with my computer when Ezra is around then it is likely Ezra will want to watch some show on the computer.

Back to school

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

Ezra goes back to school tomorrow after a week of fun times with grandma o. I am going that he will not bring the fists of fury that he’s been playing with at home this last couple of days. Let’s hope for happy, fun and safe day tomorrow.

Yikes

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Ezra is going to bed right now. We had a fun week! The week included the annual trip to the pumpkin patch with Ezra’s preschool. I had a fun time with the kids on the trip…I definitely think that I have the most well behaved kid in the school because he was so good at listening to his mom. I also had fun hanging out with Ezra’s friend big C. Multiple kids are fun when they are not your own.

Sucking On Lips

Wednesday, October 13th, 2010

So, Ezra seems to have replaced sucking on his binky with sucking on his lips.

He switches-up his lips sucking. Some times one at a time. Some times both at one time. Every time, I tell him to not suck on his lips or they will get chapped. And now they are chapped, so he looks kind of like he has ice cream around his bottom lip. And now it itches, so he sucks more to sooth the itch. And I tell him to stop sucking on his lips, and we put chap stick on his lips. And it helps, but comes off when he sucks on his lips next. …At least, he doesn’t fuss for his binky.

Fun Time

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

We went to Corvallis this weekend. Ezra had fun with the grandparents, especially watching football. Yeah. Football. We saw the Beavers win which was great, but I am not so excited about the football all the time. When we got home we took ezra to the park with the football. He was having fun and saw some older boys rolling down the hill so he wanted to do the same. I think he is a pretty rough and tumble kid.

weekends

Sunday, September 12th, 2010

We had another fun weekend! Today’s highlights included two trips to the bouncy house at the neighborhood social event. Its fun hanging out with ezra and not having to worry about the naps.

Diving Mr. Ezra

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I cleaned my car out this weekend in hope to make Ezra’s drive from preschool a bit more comfortable because he has been complaining about the smell, the dust and the trash throughout the car now that I am driving him home from preschool.

He said he likes my car better now that it is cleaner, but he didn’t like the cassette tapes on the floor below his seat. He called these trash and helped me pick-up the cassette tapes and put them in a plastic bin once we arrived home today.

He also doesn’t like the car for the fact he can’t reach the button to move up or down his window which is a privilege he gets when driving in mom’s car because he can reach the button to move the window up or down and because he hasn’t abused the privilege.

He did say he likes my car now that it is clean and less smelly, but he also said he still likes mom’s car much more.

I now have a plan to let him decorate his area of my car. I will call it our car, too, because he is in it as much as I am in it.

LEGO Tower!

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Ezra’s LEGO creations have gotten bigger since getting a few more blocks for his b-day.

Today’s creation is a tower created by both -v- and Ezra. The tower is nearly as tall as me with a ladder on top. A LEGO tractor and semi-tractor are attached around the middle of the tall building. I am a little worried it will not survive an earth quake.

I am sure by tomorrow the the tower will be rubble then become another building.

pool party

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

Ezra got invitwed to a pool party today for a preschool friend’s birthday. This is the first time that Ezra has been in the water since our trip to the coast and he was really excited! It was a super hot day so it was nice to be at the pool. Ezra had a lot of fun playing with his friends and splashing in the water. He didn’t even mind when he got his face in the water and manged to avoid drinking pool water like he did all the time last summer when we had swim lessons. Fun!

Lock Picker

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Ezra showed me today he knows how to open the doors of the cupboards with the child safety locks. The locks are stiff plastic levers with a soft hook that presses against and hooks on a notched piece of plastic fastened with screws to the cupboard. He opened the door part way, pressed on the lever and opened the door.

Getting the party started

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

I’ve been getting things ready for ezra’s birthday weekend. We are doing a party at preschool with firetrucks and cupcakes. After the party i think we’lll try to go out to dinner with the grandparents, then on saturday we’ll head to the beach. I think this sounds like a pretty good birthday weekend. Ezra seems to be getting excited about it now too…he keeps asking how long it is until he turns 3 and has his party

I like being home

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

I was away for a work trip earlier this month.
I had fun for sure but it was also a lot of fun
to come home! I really missed him and kalab and the cats.
Glad that the boys were able to have some fun times
together and with grandma o and grandma and grandpa t.
We have been having a lot of fun Together ever since.

Ezra Is Driving My Car

Monday, May 10th, 2010

He drives by flipping lever, switches and pressing buttons and trying to turn the steering wheel and move the gear shift of my car, the car that doesn’t move because I don’t drive it. Ezra was standing on seat and out window a few minutes ago. He was ejecting the tape and turning the knobs of the radio. We are driving my car, and driving my car is Ezra’s new favorite thing.

I don’t know where we are going. We haven’t moved, but we sure seem to have gone somewhere.

Ezra May Have Mastered The Scoot Bike

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

I am a typical dad, so I realize the statement that Ezra may have mastered the scoot bike could be that of a dad observing his son progressing beyond current popular culture values for variables to define what an above average intelligence and an above average athletic child able to learn to peddle a bike during his current age, but I believe it true.

Ezra Pooped In A Toilet

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

While I felt Ezra’s joy when Ezra told me of his first experience of him actually pooping in a toilet during pre-school and not needing to change his diaper, I felt sorrow after the story was done for it is another first I didn’t get to experience with Ezra.

Ezra Does Things With Me To Punish -v-

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

After Ezra couldn’t wear socks with trucks then fussed and calmed down, Ezra said to all, ,,I want dad to buckle me in.” Meaning he wanted me to help him get in his car seat, which is an act that is reserved for parent number one, which is -v-. Meaning he wanted to give me the honor to buckle him in because he was upset at -v- for not getting him socks with trucks. I was more than happy to help him because I do try, but he gets fussy if I help him, so I don’t help him.  It also made me happy knowing I could help him and -v-. I was thinking I could help him and -v-  by letting me buckle him in his seat now that he was going to let me because he was mad at -v-. Of course, by the time we got to the car he wanted -v- to help him with his seat and buckle.
