Big Potty

Thursday, September 9th, 2010

When home, Ezra wants to sit on the big potty to poop and pee using his potty’s seat that nicely fits over the big potty’s seat to sit comfortable, which is great and cute to see him sitting high-up on the potty throne.

Five Days Of No Diapers OR Peeing/Pooping In Pants

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

There has been no fuss to change diapers for there have been no diapers. All poops and pees have been on the potty. The only time we needed diapers was when we were stuck in traffic, and Ezra needed to pee. All we had was the portable toilet seat that is Ezra’s size to fit over adult toilets and diapers, so -v- pulled off to the side of the road; made a toilet with the portable seat and diapers, and Ezra peed on the improvised toilet.

Best Week Ever!

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Since the last weekend from hell, we’ve made such great potty training progress that I feel like everything’s been better! Less stress over cleaning up pee = more fun for everyone. SO I think that this may in fact have been the best week ever…after we got past the incident on Monday where he peed on the floor at the kid gym and we didn’t have any extra pants so we had to carry him crying out to the car to go home. But since that day Ezra has done such a good job with using the potty. After Ezra’s first couple of poops as a baby, I never thought I could be as excited about a bowel movement as I was about the big one he put in his little potty today. It was like the most awesome thing ever. There were other things about this weekend that were fun (the camp-out in the living room, waffles, the park, the tadpole pond) but that poop made this the best weekend EVER!

EZRA HAS POOPED IN THE POTTY AT HOME!!!

THREE PEES IN POTTY! …And one poop in pants.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

He peed in the potty this morning, at pre-school and at his gym. I feel we are making progress with the peeing in potty. The poop in potty may take some time for he cares having poop in pants less than he cares stopping playing to poop in the potty.

EZRA PEED IN THE POTTY AT HOME!

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

All I needed to do was to ask about peeing every five minutes and talk to him about his potty and what kind of potty he would like every few minutes and rush him to the bath room twice when he said he needed to pee. I think the first attempt I made him too nervous as we rushed to the bathroom. The second time I convinced him to sit a few seconds longer on his potty and relax. Then I heard the sound of pee, and Ezra smiled. And I felt a great relief.

I Fucking Hate Potty Training Ezra

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I feel I am the one being trained. I feel (as does -v-) that we are doing everything wrong. I feel that he will forever be pooping in his underwear and not caring. Because he doesn’t seem to care about pooping and peeing in his underwear, and he feels to care only that we change his pants and underwear and clean his bum after he poops, which he hates more often than not.

We don’t feel it is an accident when he has pooped or peed in his underwear, but rather his preferred way of pooping and peeing. Not that I blame him, and I can understand because that’s how he has always done it. I only wish he’d understand that he would need to change his underwear and pants and wipe is bum much less if he pooped and/or peed in the toilet. But he is only two and a half, so I realize my wishes can wait.

We have two potties. We have two to go near the two adult toilets. We even have a seat Ezra’s size that would fit around the adult toilet seats. One of the toilets he has decorated with stickers, but for some reason he hates it and the other potty and the potty seat. Or he hates something about the toilets like the bathrooms, the placement, the type. Well, the type of toilet could be an issue because he will pee and poop in the toilets that are at preschool school partly we suspect because the preschool toilets flush. And it could be likely that watching other kids at preschool help him feel more comfortable.

I don’t know. We don’t know. We are confused. I just hope Ezra doesn’t enjoy to poop or pee in pants more than sitting on the potty for the rest of his life because of some psychological manifest we create.

Will he or won’t he?

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Ezra went to preschool today wearing underpants. He had one accident at school. When I went to pick him up he was wearing new pants and new underpants. I tried to get him to go to the potty before we left preschool but he wouldn’t. We got home and went to the basement to get popsicles, and when I turned around he said he needed new underpants. So, we changed the pants and got new underpants. When we were getting ready for bed, Ezra sat on the toilet for about 10 minutes, but no pee. So now that he’s in bed wearing only his underpants, I am wondering, will he or won’t he pee?

Potty Training

Monday, January 25th, 2010

So Ezra poops and pees at Pre-school into their toddler sized flushing toilets, but does not poop and pee at home in either of his toddler sized non-flushing toilets. He sometimes sits down on the toilets at home, but only because he happens to be in the bathroom because he is brushing teeth or washing hands. We ask him through the day if he needs to poop or pee and if he wants to sit on the potty, but the only time he responds is if he had pooped or peed and wants a new diaper (because he doesn’t always want to change his diaper even after pooping and peeing). We  have tried a toilet for Christmas, so he thinks it a gift. We have tried letting him make the toilet his own by letting him put stickers on it. We have explained to him that he wouldn’t need to change his diaper as often as we do if he didn’t poop or pee in it. He has wanted to wear underwear and not diapers, but still doesn’t care that much to poop and pee at home to make the transition to underwear. We reason at least he poops and pees in toilet at preschool, but it wouldn’t be nice if he did it at home for we, like Ezra, don’t enjoy changing the diapers of a fussy Ezra.

Maybe Ezra Will Poop and Pee In Potty By 2011?

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Ezra will now tell us when he just went pee in his diaper. He will talk to us really slow while he is pooping, and he will tell us he is pooping when we ask. And he has a new potty he got for Christmas that he has decorated with stickers, and he has sat on once, but still hasn’t pooped or peed in the potty. There is also the fact he will poop and pee in the potty at Preschool, but never at home because we suspect the potty at Preschool is his size and flushes. So…Maybe Ezra will be peeing and pooping in the potty at home some time during 2010?

Underwear

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Ezra was sort of in a crankypants mood tonight before we went to bed. Well, sort of is actually an understatement. One of the things he refused to do before going to bed was put on a diaper. We settled for putting on a pair of his big boy underwear….the ones with cars on them. I am curious to see how this works. Will he make it through the night? Will he sit on the potty tomorrow morning? Will he just pee in the bed and wake up crying?

PS - yesterday Ezra picked up a bucket and filled it with various items, and announced he was going to grandma and grandpa’s house. He did this repeatedly throughout the evening. His trip to grandma and grandpa’s house involved a circle through the kitchen and dining room. Before he’d leave he’d give me a kiss and one time he even a “love you mom!” I wish I had a video camera to record the sweetness : )

pee pee in the potty!!!!!

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Ezra asked to sit on the potty tonight after I had put him in his crib to go to sleep. He sat down on the potty for about 20 seconds, then got up and wanted to put his diaper back on. So we did, and he went back to bed. Then about 5 minutes later, he wanted to sit on the potty again. This time, he sat on the potty for about 2 minutes, when all of a sudden, I heard the sounds of pee pee in the potty! We were both very excited and we turned on the big light in the room and I did a pee pee dance and Ezra got up and pointed to the pee pee in the potty and said “I did it!” I was sad that Kalab was not there to see it, but I did take pictures. The jubilation turned to tears after about 10 minutes though, when we had to figure out what he wanted to wear. And then there were more requests to sit on the potty with no results. So, now, while I am excited about Ezra going potty in the potty for the first time, I wonder if bed time is going to end up getting stretched out longer and longer, because now he could really have to go potty!

Waking To Pee In The Potty

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

This morning was the first morning Ezra woke with the want to be taken to the potty to pee. Though he did not pee in his potty because, as he said, the potty was, ,,Cold. Cold,” he did try.

Pee In The Potty

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Ezra’s potty training is slow going. So far, the only time he has any desire to try to sit on his potty to pee or poop just happens to be as he is laying in his bed, against his desire, to go to sleep for the night. No other time does he really express the desire to go to the bathroom and sit on his potty. So for the past to nights as we laid him down he’s expressed a desire to go pee in the potty. Both times it resulted in us all sitting in the bathroom waiting for something to happen. What has happened is Ezra sits on the potty for a few seconds. Then he stands and walks around. Then he sits on the potty. He will try to play with the toilet paper. He will try to leave to go run around. Every time we tell him that if he wants to go pee in his potty that’s good, but it is not a reason to avoid going to bed. So we sit. We wait then we go back to his room, lay him on his bed and just about when things are calm he will ask again to go pee in his potty.
