Scooting on the Skuut

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Ezra was sitting on and scooting around on his Skuut bike today during four different occasions. -v- and I suspect Ezra may have has some growth spirt while in Utah because his feet are now almost near level with the ground when on the Skuut bike, so pushing himself around looked fun and not frustrating for him today. He was smiling while he kicked himself around the house. He even wanted to wear his elbow and knee pads while doing it.

Daddy Express

Ezra’s liking trains. He hopes to see one when we go on walks to look at cars, which he shows by pointing in the directions of the train tracks and says, ,,Choo-choo.” He says, ”Choo-choo” when he hears one in the distance. One of his favorite pairs of pajamas is the pair with trains on them. And he now likes to have his toy cars and trucks pushed one after another like a train.

Knowing his joy of trains, I decided to become Daddy Express today. It began with him finding a cardboard box big enough for him to sit in, which he did. Having a moment of inspiration, I went and got a cat-lease and some scissors. Then I poked a hole in the cardboard box, looped the leash from the hole to the top and held the end of the leash. I then pulled the box with Ezra inside and -v- behind the box. -v- and I said, ,,Choo-choo,” as we went around the house. The Daddy Express went on several trips from the kitchen to the living room to the dinning area with Ezra smiling.

Baby Art

i_did_that.jpgMy baby is an artist! Here is Ezra with his most recent work:

Freedom! (Partially Digested Milk on 100% Cotton Jersey), 2007.

He was very pleased upon completion of this piece, inspired in part by the testimony of General Petraeus to Congress he heard on NPR last week. His excitement continues because the critics are loving his new pieces now that he’s moved away from using couch cushions as his canvas.

Maniac On The CouchThis wasn’t taken during today’s sleepy quiet happy day, but on Ezra’s 1-month birthday. This is my little maniac, dancing like he’s never danced before…check out his little baby legwarmers! And his off-the-shoulder onesie! He’s totally channeling what’s-her-name from Flashdance!
