His preschool friend C for some reason thinks it’s funny to throw playground bark-chips at me and thinks it’s okay to throw bark-chips at me as long as Ezra throws bark-chips at me. Then they both throw bark-chips at me and I step away saying, ,,Please stop,” ”Your being rude,” and, ”It’s not nice to throw things at people when not play catch.” After it happened the second time, I had talk with Ezra on the way home and told him Ezra that it was rude to throw things at me or anyone without them wanting to have some thing thrown at them.
Today when I got Ezra from preschool his friend C tried to get Ezra to throw a rag at me, but Ezra looked at his friends said, ,,No.” His friend tried to get Ezra to throw bark-chips at me. Ezra said, ”No.” And on the way home I told him how proud I was of him not doing what his friend asked him to do because he knew that I didn’t like him doing it.
We smiled.

He offered to help set the table, so he carried the plates, bread and tomatoes to the table. Then he served the tomatoes and poured his own milk.
I smiled.

We went with Uncle D to see the baseball game the Owlz versus the Raptors. After a few pitches a foul ball was hit to the far end of the field and rolled near where we sat. We sat around Ezra as he stood there with mitt. A player warming-up along the side got the foul ball and tossed it at Ezra. Uncle D caught the ball for Ezra. Then Ezra got the ball signed by the Raptor’s mascot. I was jealous for I have been to more baseball games than him and never got a foul ball, but I was able to enjoy through Ezra getting a foul ball.

Ezra has some great words of independence for me. ,,I can wipe my own butt,” he said to me. Then he showed me, and then I realized this is more proof of Ezra’s independence!

It’s his new favorite game. A game he can be played over and over and over and over. His technique is getting better. At first, he preferred paper. Now it changes when I least expect it. Last time he won six out of ten.

Ezra’s more social than me. If we stop to get a snack and a drink some where, he will want to stay and sit at a table and stare out the window and be around people while he eats his snack and drinks his drink. If we are at the park, he prefers that other people are there. If we are watching a baseball game, he will want to sit in the bleechers (where all the people are at) and not in the hill overlooking the field where few people are.

We met friends with kids at the Zoo and had a fun time. There was only one sad moment when we didn’t know we crossed the line to leave the dinosaur exhibit, so he couldn’t go back through the zoo’s dinosaur exhibit unless we paid again and that we weren’t going to pay again (at least today). Other than that it was all good and calm as Ezra was understanding and thoughtful of our friends and their kids. He had fun at the zoo. And after zoo we ate pizza at a pizza place with friends while Ezra scribbled, ate and played friend’s kids. I watched nervously as a kid that we didn’t know arrived at the pizza place (a bit older kid) and wanted to play with Ezra and his new friends around the bike rack. I seen and was calmed when all the kids played without pushing or ignoring or causing too much chaos. The all seemed to make some game that only they knew and had fun playing by the rules. They all got along. As kids seem to do, they played, so maybe it is just not Ezra that is great.

Today I was again denied the role Race Car and Truck because Ezra wanted the Sheriff voice with the Race Car and Truck, but I said the Race Car and Truck don’t have the same voice as Sheriff, so I was given the role of Sheriff again.
I have experienced some fame because of my acting as Sheriff. Now, Ezra requests me to play and talk and go to the park. He’s even chosen me over -v- a few times today, which only happens when -v- is gone.

The words from Ezra, ,,That’s okay. We can build it again,” were musical to my mind as it happened after some thing we just built with LEGOs crashed to the ground just as we were finishing it. His usually response is to get all fussy and angry. And I say, ,,Ezra, They’re LEGOs. We can fix it. This is part of the fun.” Then he would calm and ask me if I could fix it, but not today. Today he simply said, ,,That’s okay. We can build it again,” and he help to build it again.

Today ezra and I stayed home today because school got canceled sure to a few flakes of snow. Which melted by about, oh, 9am. So basically we had a day at home. It was a nice day for a nice day at home. I hope tomorrow the school will not be closed. Although maybe kalab could have a nice day at home.

Ezra was happy to show me, and I was happy to see, that Ezra can now dress himself! YES! I feel like a competent parent even though all the credit goes to -v- for convincing Ezra he is a big enough kid to dress himself and then patiently help him through the process, so Ezra doesn’t get discouraged by a twisted sleeve or a rolled strap.

We have red lights by the front door and blue lights for a window. Ezra got his own special holiday room lights that we told him probably would be out of his room before the end of January (which I will be surprised if they ever leave his room).

Oh, we had a fun time in Utah! There were snow, toys, and grand parents. And snow. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if we could have made a snowman with that snow. Ezra is a great traveler, and it was so easy to fly with him. It was also really great to have almost a week with family and no work. Today though was a rough transition back to school, tougher maybe for me than Ezra.

Ezra had all the option to be what he wanted to be for Halloween: Ref, Football Player, Soccer Player, Garbage Man, and he wants to be a Race Car Driver. And I got to see the outfit tonight that he will be wearing to his Halloween Party, and it is a Shiny Race Car Driver Jump Suit. And he raced around the house dressed in the outfit ready to drive it around for Halloween.

As we rode to preschool a week ago to deliver his binky to the babies at playschool, we were listening to Queen’s “We will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”…Ezra said “Champions don’t use binkies!” and so we sang those words along to the song. I’m feeling like singing those words again because we are the champions! It’s been a week without the binky and Ezra is sleeping tight in bed with his triumphantly returned car transporter. No time for binkies because we are the champions, my friend!
