Don’t eat animals

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

When I got to pre-school yesterday, the kids were playing with these little multi-colored plastic toy animals. Ezra had a small family of bunnies and 1 gorilla. The other kids had their own little zoos. I noticed that one kid Ax was putting the animals in his mouth and chewing on them, but that wasn’t a surprise because this kid puts everything in his mouth and chews on it. Ezra and I went home and started to think about dinner. I asked what we should have, and Ezra said that he wanted eggs. So I got out some eggs and started to cracking. As I was whisking the eggs, Ezra looked at me and said “don’t eat animals”. And I said….”hmmm”. I was wondering whether he had gotten some go veg literature from someone somewhere. I asked him who told him not to eat the animals, and he said “Ax no eat animals” Then he went to the fridge and pointed at the cow magnet that he got from Grandma and Grandpa T, and said again “don’t eat animals”…”eat food”. Maybe he was thinking about how Ax was chewing on the animals at pre-school, and maybe the teacher told him not to eat the animals? Because I don’t think Ezra realizes yet that meat and eggs are animals, because he happily sat down to eat the eggs I made for him.

,,I Pee-Pee On Pants.”

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

-v- asked, ,,Are you pooping,” because Ezra did go quiet, and I did imagine Ezra’s pooping concentration. Ezra said, ,,I pee-pee on pants.”

Some how pee-pee spread from diaper onto his jogging suit pants to the floor during the morning time. No fright. I heard from main living area. I smiled and felt like a good parent for what Ezra said in words he had done for he had pee-pee on pants and he actually pee-peed on pants and on the floor. It was something to clean-up. We cleaned-up. I got new pants. And the morning went along. I did mention during car ride to pre-school that pee-peeing on or in toilet is fun, too. Thus he gave me the feeling that I was a good parent again.

Backing-Up

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

One of Ezra’s cute things he does during  the past weeks has been backing-up, which is what is read to be. It is him walking backwards while him saying, ,,Backing-up,” or making a peep-peep sound like a garbage truck. We always tell him to watch where he backs-up, and we watch him to be sure he won’t hit something when he backs-up, but like tonight sometimes backing-up can lead to a crash to the butt no matter what we do.

I Was The Tow Truck

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Ezra lead Grandma O, -v- and me during a session of playing with cars. Ezra lead the way first as the LEGO firetruck then as the front loader after -v- didn’t want to play with the front-loader anymore for she wanted to be the monster truck Snakebite. -v- playing with Snakebite didn’t last long because she wanted to run over everyone else as Grandma O drove the safari truck, Ezra drove the LEGO  firetruck and I drove the tow truck around the dinning room table, so Ezra took Snakebite away from -v- and had her play with the LEGO firetruck. Ezra then parked Snakebite for the night and played the front loader as I continued to be the tow truck as we drove around and around the table.

Halloween!

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

Halloween was fun indeed. It all started with the party at the pre-school on Friday afternoon that Ezra invited me and GrammaO to attend with him. Ezra had his monkey suit partially on, but only for about 30 seconds. Then he noticed that C-dog didn’t have on his costume, so of course Ezra could not wear a costume. We played some games, did some crafts, and GrammaO and I watched as all the kids took turns taking bites out of cookies and then putting them back on the table. The big “hit” of the party was the ghost pinata. Everyone got to take a whack at it, and got some of the toys that spilled out once the older kids got to it. Ezra’s little princess friend happily shared her playdough stash with her friends, while C-dog hoarded all the kazoos to himself. On Saturday, we went to Corvallis for halloween evening. Ezra had a long long day, but managed to get the monkey suit fully on, and go out and trick or treat at a few houses near Grampa and Gramma T’s place. He looked adorable and I’ll have to try and get the pictures from GrammaO. Now we just have to figure out how to convince him that we don’t always get to eat so much candy.
