Ezra Is 20 Months Old Today!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Happy mid-year birthday to Ezra! He is 20 months old today. In honor of this (and the fact that I stumbled upon one on craigslist) we bought Ezra a fire engine toddler bed. Because Ezra LOVES fire engines. I’m not sure if he’ll get to use it right away, or if we should wait until his real birthday. But here’s what it looks like:

Oh….it’s so cute and totally unnecessary. I hope he will like it! I almost feel like I need to give it to him now, just so that he will be sure to still like fire engines enough to want to sleep in this thing…

Engineering A Smile

Monday, April 6th, 2009

Making a jump for Ezra’s new motorcycle toy from two books and some big blocks was the highlight of a day drug down by too many hours of working money job writing for a computer with a result of people either being unhappy or happy and wanting more.

Seeing a smile on Ezra’s face as the motorcycle rolled up the book-jump, fly into the air, land and roll over the ground made me smile and allowed some of the stress and residue tension of money job to fly away.

Spinning In Circles

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Still dizzy from Ezra. We followed him to the park to the traffic intersection to home. Then it was following Ezra around the yard then around the block with him pushing long is riding dump truck. Then he ran around the house wanting to see this and that and be here and there.

And throughout the day Ezra would pause in his running around to spin in circles and make himself dizzy and stumble to the ground laughing and looking up. Then he would stand up and do it again with -v- and I just making sure he didn’t fall and hit his head on a table or chair. Then he would stop, laugh and begin the running around again looking at this and playing with that. There was no controlling Ezra. Even watching the spinning fan made him seem to go crazy.

Somehow we were able to get him to go to sleep. It did take more time than normal to calm him for sleep. He had to listen to Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash singing Jackson looped more times than I can think until there was silence and he was sleeping.

Molars

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Ezra woke Wednesday in a fussing fit which was odd, but on a rare occasion he has had bad dreams causing him to wake with a fuss.

Ezra has been rubbing his hand around his ear and jaw the past couple of days, and with the fussing of Wednesday there was a thought of it either being another sign of an ear infection or one those elusive molars that should be growing.

AND IT’S MOLARS!

…At least, that is what -v- believes she saw today.

Future Skateboarder?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Ezra’s seen some skateboarders at the park a couple of times. Ever since he’s seen the skateboarding kids he’s been acting like he’s skateboarding. First it was the base of wooden block train he tries to stand upon like skateboard. Then it was the floor and him standing sideways like on a skateboard and bending at the knees then sort of jumping up. Today the skateboard was a small plastic container. He was bending at the knees and grabbing the rim of the small plastic container then he stood up suddenly like he ollied. Then he smiled. Then he stood sideways and put his arms out to the side like balancing on a skateboard.

I feel that he may be getting a skateboard and a helmet for his birthday. Of course, next week he may notice all the bikes being peddled around the neighborhood and begin to act like a chair is a bike.

Cruisin’ with Ezra

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Sometimes, after we arrive home after daycare,  Ezra will not want to get out of the car. Today I asked him if he wanted me to start the car again, and he said yes. Then I asked if he wanted to drive somewhere, and he said yes. So, we went cruising! We drove around a little while longer and saw more buses, taxis, and even a couple of mow-tow-tows! I actually needed to run some errands so Ezra and I cruised around and did those and had a fun fun afternoon. yay!
