Ezra Doesn’t Bite Me

Friday, January 9th, 2009

Ezra has been super clingy to -v- as she as written. He becomes so clingy once in a while he wants to cling his teeth to -v-, which has never happened to me. Though I am at times jealous of the fact Ezra is clung to -v-, I am not jealous about his clinging with his teeth to her flesh.

I Love Ezra

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Ezra is awesome and I love him more than just about anything. The past few days, however, Ezra has been super mom-clingy and moody. Ever since we went back to daycare after our extended holiday/snowday “staycation”, Ezra has seemed to revert to being a superfan of mom and only mom. He gets upset when dad is the one who walks in his room in the morning. He is upset when I am not the one to soothe him when he takes a tumble. He gives me a scowl and furrowed brow when I say bye bye at playcare in the mornings. He screams and cries when he does not get his way in the realm of toys or food or diaper changing. I am hoping that this is a short-lived phase, but think it could be the start of the terrible twos?

Night-Night

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

,,Night-night,” says Ezra and then he lays on the ground and goes to bed. He does this every night now. …Just kidding. He lays on the ground for about thirty seconds after saying, ”Night-night.” -v- and I are still hoping one day when it is time for him to go to sleep at night that he will say, ”Night-night,” and go to sleep. Instead it is forty minute process of brushing teeth; reading; playing ball; listening to music; -v- singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star; me laying on the floor like I am sleeping; a couple of tears shed when he is put in his crib too early; him pointing at his bedroom door wanting out;  that all ends with him sleeping in his crib.

I uploaded a huge number of photos of Ezra to my Picassa account today.

Ezra has grown so much just since his birthday! It was fun looking back on the last few months. I noted that there were very few pictures taken around the time following the tooth incident. Lots of photos from times when grandparents are visiting.

Here is one of my favorites, from sometime this summer:

Ezra walking B&W

Isn’t he cute?????

And here’s another good one, though not quite as flattering it shows off Ezra’s natural flowing mullet : )

Ezra wants a puppy?

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

I think Ezra wants a puppy.

Today I took an actual vacation day, and Ezra and I were home alone. We had such a fun day out and about! We went to the street and looked at cars (twice), ate bagels, went to the mall, and finally out to dinner with Kalab. Ezra was in such a fun mood the whole day! I think Ezra enjoyed the trip to the mall the best, because there were puppies at the pet store. Ezra squealed with glee and clapped his hands and pressed his nose up to the glass window where the puppies were playing at the pet store. Those puppies held his attention for oh…about 10 minutes. But for the rest of the day Ezra kept repeating “puppy? puppy? puppy?”

Cool Things

…When I ask for Ezra to turn off the radio in his room before we leave the room and then he turn off the radio. …When he turns off the radio in his room without asking. …How he says, ,,WOW,” when a new type of motorized vehicle drives past. …That he likes to brush his teeth. …That he is petting the cats with soft touches. …That he helps unload the dishwasher by lifting the dishes from the bottom rack and into the air for -v- or me to grab. …When he wants to sit at the table and eat. …When he likes what I cook. …That he plays crazy fun ball. …How he likes to stare at things. …How he actually is listening to me and is beginning to understand. …How he pushes the boundaries of what he can and can’t hit with a toy hammer. …How he dances to most music sitting or standing even if it is only with his right arm extending and contracting with the beat.
