Ezra is 15 MOnths Old Today!

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Yay! Yay! Yay! Ezra is 15 months old today! And right now, he is crying in his crib because he woke up due to a stuffy nose, and I went in to check on him picked him up and gave him a hug, and now he wants me to nurse him, and I am trying very hard to work with him to give up the night nursings after he goes to bed. But he is very VERY persistent and stubborn and knows what he wants, so he pulls quite a screaming kicking crying tantrum in hopes it will make me give in (again) and give him the boob.   These night nursings have definitely become his comfort device, and I would like for Ezra to learn how to find comfort in other ways and other things aside from my boobs. I would like for him to be satisfied with a hug and cuddle when he wakes up at night for whatever reason.  Plus, I need Ezra to learn that when I say no I mean it so tonight I must not give in!

1 1/4 Years Old!

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Ezra is a little person now. He guides us where he wants to go. He listens. He’s throwing tantrums for things that he wants. He’s an addict (for nursing and his pacifier). He’s speaking his own language. He’s watching other people to learn. He’s repeating acts that we find funny or that we thank him for. He’s beginning to create art with crayons. He’s beginning to have preferences with his toys, which usually have wheels. He’s curious and wants to play with everything including with the knobs on the stove and knows he shouldn’t play with the knobs on the stove, but tries to play with them anyway because we say no, which shows us he is beginning to rebel. He’s demanding and is beginning to manipulate. He can communicate his needs. He’s beginning to be able to spend some time alone and play. He’s more fun to be around because all these new things happen everyday. Like today when he woke up and we were in his room, and he was walking around his room playing with his basketball and hoop, and then  he began to take the dirty cloths in the dirty cloths basket and put the dirty cloths in the clean cloths drawers just like we have told him to do with his clean cloths after he pulls the clean cloths out of the drawers. I explained that he didn’t need to put his dirty cloths in the clean cloths drawers because they were dirty and dirty cloths should remain in the dirty cloths basket. He looked at me. And he walked to the door of his bedroom, reached to touch the door handle and pointed out. I turned the handle. He pulled open the door. We left his room to continue the day.

Getting Tubes

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

The appointment for later this month to have a doctor cut Ezra’s ear drum and insert tubes (to let the fluid drain) has been made. The ear infection he had is gone. This was confirmed by his doctor yesterday. What was also confirmed was the fact he has too much fluid behind on ear drum, which increases the chance of another ear infection, so ezra will be getting tubes.

Cute Doggy

Ezra had a fun Halloween. And for the first time we went treat-or-treating with Ezra. Ezra who was smiling the entire time until we got to the last house that had talking skeletons and glowing pumpkins and a big mumy. He stood and stared not knowing what to do. His floppy dog ears hung still. Then we wanted to go, so we went back to the house steps, and he looked at his Halloween goodies.
